Large scale Raku fired clay totem sculptures. Approx 7ft tall. Set of three.

Idea based on the symbolic language of prehistory. Materials and processes: Camberwell body. Raku with engobes, resists & glazes. Each totem is derived from a single symbol taken from the complex visual languages developed by prehistoric man. With them I have sought to emulate their honest innovation, spirituality and purity of motive. These sculptures have been used for inspiration in staged dance productions (Video available).
